Pre-Match Analysis

Pateadores will play their first home match of the season against LA Galaxy. Both teams will be looking for their first wins of the season. Last weekend, Pateadores played to a 0-0 stalemate against FC Golden State while LA Galaxy drew at home 3-3 against Nomads. Pateadores’ Raul Giovanni Miglietti missed last weekend’s match against FC Golden State due to injury. It is not certain whether Giovanni will start on Saturday due to injury. LA Galaxy’s Jonathan Estrada – a U16 player – was brought up for last weekend’s U18 match against Nomads and, as a result, scored a goal. Jorge Estrada – Pateadores’ own left back – will possibly face off against his younger brother, Jonathan. Additionally, Ronaldo Escudero will be playing against his previous team and will be looking to make the difference for Pateadores. Saturday’s match between Pats and LA Galaxy will kick-off at 10 AM in Irvine, CA.

Player Profile:
Ronaldo Escudero returns to his boyhood club, Pateadores, after playing with LA Galaxy’s U18 Academy.
The Santa Ana native began his Pateadores career years ago at the U8 level. Escudero joins Pateadores’ U18 Academy for the 2016/17 season with newfound development to his game after his experiences with the U.S. Development Academy and LA Galaxy. In 2013, Escudero – still playing for Pats at this time – was called up for the U-17 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase under coach Clint Peay. Under Coach Clint Peay, Escudero was called up as a left-back. In 2015, however, Escudero would leave Pateadores to play with LA Galaxy’s Academy for the 2015/16 season. Now, as the new season is underway, Escudero realizes how difficult it can be to transition into another team; however, he is optimistic to hit the ground running. “My goals are to develop as a player this season and gain more information about myself from my coaches,” said the Santa Ana native. Aside from soccer, one of Escudero’s aspirations off the field is to one day meet his grandpa. “My aspiration off the field is to hopefully get to see my grandpa who I haven’t seen at all and tell him about my life because I do really want to meet him,” said Escudero. Ultimately, Ronaldo Escudero is confident and ready to help Pateadores make it to the top of the table in the division and – hopefully – advance onto playoffs.
